  1. Just because paint is more expensive does not mean that it is better, especially when compared to other brands out there. What makes paint better is the resins and raw materials that go into it. Sherwin Williams in most products use lesser quality resins. You can check any product data page and see that. Emerald exterior is one of their better products, but interior not so great. Duration interior is more washable and has better moisture resistance making it ideal for kitchens and bathrooms. There are a lot of quality paint products out there. Don’t be fooled into thinking because one brand is more expensive it is automatically better.

  2. How about painting Emerald in high impact areas and a less costly paint in low to no impact areas?
    Could the upper half of a wall be a cheaper paint with the walls’ lower half painted with Emerald? Would the difference between them be noticable even if the whole wall is the same color?
