Stained grout between tiles and stones can detract from the beauty of your floor or shower, but scrubbing it can be a chore. To make cleaning easier, we've researched and found the best no-scrub methods for restoring your grout to its original state.
Clean grout with a mixture of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide (add dish soap for grease stains). Apply the mixture, let it sit for 10 minutes, then rinse with warm water. For extra tough stains, apply baking soda overnight and wipe clean in the morning with warm water.
Clean grout with bleach for germ-killing and whitening, but make sure to use it correctly: ventilate the area and wear gloves. Choose between chlorine or less harsh oxygen bleach and dilute it 1:9 with water. Apply to grout, let it sit, then wipe clean with a white cloth.
Clean grout with a mixture of white vinegar and water (equal parts) if the tile and stone are non-porous. Spray onto grout, let sit for 5-10 minutes, rinse with warm water or scrub with a toothbrush.
We're not all confident in homemade cleaners and that's okay. If you'd feel better buying a cleaner that is premade, there are quite a few products available that boast about the little work required from you for them to work.
