Moen Faucet Cartridge Types

As your faucet cartridge controls the flow of water, it also turns the water on and off and checks the amount of water coming out of it. Most faucet cartridges today work only in one direction, either in the X-axis or Y-axis.

The X-axis means the faucet knob works in the left and right directions. Y-axis works with faucets that open and close either by moving them up or down.
