Can You Hang Curtains With Command Hooks?
The answer to this is a definite, yes! Command hooks are more and more becoming the gold standard for nail-free curtain hanging. They are available in a multitude of sizes, are ">easy to install, don't damage your wall or your paint job, and are inexpensive. They are also made to peel easily off of the wall. The main trick is getting the right size of Command hooks to hold your rod and curtain.
Command even makes hooks now out of metallic colors to match many modern rods. It's almost as if they'd like to make the simple nail obsolete for home decorators.

How Much Weight Can Command Strips Hold?
Command strips and hooks come in a variety of weight limits. For the most part, the large strips can be used to hold up to four pounds, so if you're using two, then that would be eight pounds. The larger metallic interior hooks, as shown below, can hold up to five pounds each, for a total of ten pounds.
It's easy to find tension rods that weigh under two pounds and lightweight curtains that weigh in at about two pounds each. Just check your product listings to be sure you're not going overweight.

No Drill Curtain Rod Brackets
Another type of nailless hanging system for curtain rods is a no-drill bracket. Brands like Kwik-Hang and others make a curtain rod that taps into place behind the wood trim surrounding your window. These wouldn't work on a door window or someplace that did not have a wooden trim.
These brackets have tiny pins that you gently tap into place behind the wood frame with a hammer. When you're ready to move, you pop them back out with a gentle tap, and your walls won't even show they've been there.
The great thing about this type of bracket is they will hold up to twenty pounds, giving you a lot of versatility when it comes to curtain and rod choices.

Velcro is another option for hanging curtains. This works well if you don't need to open and close your curtains. For instance, if you have a window that you want the light to pour through, but maintain some privacy, like a bathroom window, velcro is a great option.
